If you haven’t heard of the Prosecco – which should be deemed extremely shocking – it is a sparkling dry wine made in Veneto, Italy. It is a white wine produced in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It is incredibly high quality also and may age up to seven years. Just like any other cocktail, the BlackBerry Prosecco is always served chilled because it tastes better cold. The most popular Prosecco cocktail is the Bellini, which is a cocktail made with Prosecco and peach purée or nectar. Prosecco is bubbly, sweet, bright, and made from Glera grapes.
A glass of blackberry Prosecco Cocktail should be made not only on special occasions but on a regular basis. I have never been to Italy, but every time I open a drink a cocktail with Prosecco in it, I always imagine myself in an Italian bar. The bottle of Prosecco I will be using for this recipe is the Zonin Prosecco. Not only is the wine extremely affordable, but the pear and passion fruit-focused notes are perfect for this recipe.
This cocktail is very easy to make on the go as it only needs essential items which are:
Ingredients
- 3 ounces of Zonin Prosecco (Or any other available Prosecco you may have)
- 1 ounce of Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin
- 1-ounce sugar syrup
- 6 fresh blackberries (Ripe blackberries possess a specific tart note)
- 5 sugar cubes
- Large ice cubes (Large cubes, so it doesn’t melt into the drink immediately)
- 2 fresh sage leaves

- Cocktail strainer
How to Make A Blackberry Prosecco Cocktail
- Muddle together the blackberries, sugar cubes, and sage leaves in a mixing glass.
- Pour ½ of the bottle of Prosecco into the mixing glass and stir gently.
- Add gin and syrup into the mix and stir while pouring in the remaining Prosecco.
- Strain the cocktail, stir and serve with ice.
Tips
- Make sure you strain your cocktail before serving to get the perfect texture.
- Sugar and syrup are both included in the recipe, but you can leave one out depending on how sweet you would want it to taste. The syrup can be made easily at home. Just pour your sugar into a pan with water. Boil till it becomes clear and mixes evenly with the water. Sweet and sour syrup is also preferred in this recipe. It is made by adding lime juice to the already made syrup.
- Large ice is highly recommended in this recipe because using smaller ice cube melts quicker and water down the cocktail.
- Basil leaves can be used in place of sage leaves.
- BlackBerry juice can be used in place of fresh blackberries, that is, when blackberries are not in season.
